British Cycling has today confirmed the riders selected to represent Great Britain at the first round of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup taking place at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester on the 18-19 April.
Current world champion Liam Phillips will be racing in the rainbow jersey at his home track, and he is joined by members of British Cycling’s BMX Academy Programme.
BMX podium coach Grant White said: “2013 was a fantastic year for the sport of BMX in Great Britain, and Liam’s success has given us a real boost.
"As we saw last year, an additional benefit of having a World Cup in Manchester is that the younger riders who haven’t made selection to represent Great Britain can still compete, so Ryan Stack and Valerie Zebrakova from the Olympic Development Programme will get to experience racing at an elite level which is invaluable for their progression.
"The whole team has been committed to their preparations for this event and they are excited to once again be racing in Manchester.”
