British Cycling has today confirmed the riders selected to represent Great Britain at the forthcoming UCI BMX Supercross World Cup taking place at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester on the 19-20 April 2013.
Olympians Shanaze Reade and Liam Phillips will both be in action at their home world cup, as will all of British Cycling’s BMX Academy riders. Current under 16 world champion Quillan Isidore has also been selected to represent GB.
Speaking of the event, Olympic BMX coach Grant White said: “Preparations for the first round of the World Cup season have been going well and I was pleased to see Shanaze take two wins at last weekend’s UEC series event opener in France.
“This will be a world class event and seats are selling out fast, so I advise fans to buy their tickets quickly. We’re all looking forward to the racing being underway.”

“An additional benefit to having a home world cup is that the younger riders who haven’t made selection to represent GB can still compete for their trade team, so our Olympic Development Programme riders will all get to experience racing at an elite level which is invaluable for their progression.
