The third round of the National Disability and Para-cycling Road Series saw wins for Ben Watson, Archie Atkinson and Millie Cass on a technical circuit in Wyke.

Ben Watson (Para-T) managed to claim first place in the hotly contested C3 class, beating first round rival Charlie Stanton-Stock (Loughborough Students CC) into second place. Stanton-Stock put in a great performance, but was unable to catch the powerful Watson, who sprinted into first place solo. Ben Hetherington (HUUB WattShop) claimed third. Stanton-Stock’s teammate, Millie Cass (Loughborough Students CC) also managed a podium in the C3 women’s equivalent, finishing first after a brilliant ride.

Archie Atkinson (Para-T) claimed a comfortable first place in the C4 class, and finished second overall in the C classes – a formidable feat for the young rider, who recently claimed a World Cup bronze. Sajjad Meghjee and Ben Payne (Maidenhead and District CC) came in second and third, respectively.

The men’s C5 event saw Finlay Webb (Exeter Wheelers) take the win ahead of Thomas Williams (Whitchurch Shropshire CC) and Josh Peachment, while Rebecca Newark (Contiki Velo Bavarian RT) took the women’s win.
