Biography:
I started life racing at the age of 14 doing cross country mountain biking and won my first Scottish Championship medal (silver) in 1994 riding in the colours of Pentland RT. I then went on to ride for Penicuik Racing Team, Sandy Wallace Race Team and Edinburgh Road Club racing at mountain bike and road events.
Since 2006 I have raced for the world famous track cycling club - City of Edinburgh Racing Club, and have concentrated on the short distance events such as Kilo TT, Sprint and Team Sprint.
I am looking to ride my first Commonwealth Games at Glasgow 2014.
Career Highlights to date:
Breaking the Sir Chris Hoy Kilo TT record at Meadowbank last year....it’s taken a few attempts!
To date 27 Scottish Championship medals, 18 British Championship medals and 4 European Championship medals.
Who Inspires you and why:
Graeme Obree . The determination he had to keep on trying and to overcome the odds is exceptionally inspirational.
How do you celebrate/relax after a big event:
