The Scottish squad for the Inter Regional Mountain bike Championships has today been announced, and two strong sides representing Scotland North and Scotland South comprising of 4 girls and 4 boys in each team, with two reserve riders will head to Hadleigh Farm, Essex from the 19th-21st of September.
“The School Games and Inter Regionals events represent the pinnacle of youth bike racing in Britain. They provide an amazing opportunity for youth bike riders to showcase their talent and potential and as such will provide a unique development opportunity that will be hugely inspirational for all the athletes involved.”
The Inter-Regional Championships acts as a focal point for the development of youth cycle racing within each of the regions of Great Britain, and allows young riders to come together and compete in a team environment. For some, it will be the biggest sporting event they ever do, for others the first step on their path to becoming Olympic Champions. For everyone it will be a unique experience and provide lifelong memories.
The Scotland North team are managed by Sophie Warburton, with Steve Field as team coach.
The Scotland South team are managed by Simon Hanlon Cole, with Miranda Balfour as team coach.
