Bookings and Tickets are now available for the 2022 Scottish Cycling  Conference and Awards, which are set to take place at Hampden Park on Saturday 26th November.

Conference & AGM

For the very first time, our conference, awards and AGM will be combined to create an unforgettable day as we celebrate all things cycling.

After arrivals and coffee, the conference will get underway at 10am, with places free to all club members in Scotland. We’ll kick start the day by presenting a draft version of Scottish Cycling’s updated ‘Developing a Nation of Cyclists’ strategy, take a look at the future of events, as well as welcoming guests from the UCI 2023 Cycling World Championships organising committee, to give you some behind the scenes information.

In the past we have run separate conferences for coaches, commissaires and volunteers, but in 2022 we want to bring the whole community together, as we reunite after a challenging couple of years. As well as keynotes, there will be a number of breakout sessions, with workshops tailored to your interest areas. The full conference programme can be found here.

The Scottish Cycling AGM will also take place just before lunch, with key standing items distributed to clubs in the weeks’ prior, as is always the case. Our President Kathy Gilchrist will host the meeting and share her reflections on 2022.

Awards

Taking place in the evening, the new look Awards will see us celebrate a wonderful year for cycling in Scotland. Join us on the night, where you’ll have the chance to rub shoulders with some of the stars of our sport at our Champion’s Drinks Reception, before a three-course meal, after which we’ll crown our award winners and you’ll have the chance to let your hair down on the dance floor. Dress code is formal – kilts and frocks encouraged!

With nine awards, spanning the full spectrum of our sport, there really is something for everyone. From traditional athlete of the year accolades through to volunteer of the year, we want to recognise the great and good of our cycling community, particularly those unsung heroes who give up hundreds of volunteering hours to make our sport happen.

Nominations

The nine awards will be presented throughout the evening; however, the shortlists will be revealed in advance. Nominations are now closed.

The nine awards being presented on the night are:

Female Athlete of the Year
Male Athlete of the Year
Performance Coach of the Year
Community Coach of the Year
Club of the Year
