British Cycling can today announce that the Klondike Grand Prix, which was set to be the first round of the 2021 men’s and women’s HSBC UK | National Road Series, has been cancelled at the request of the event organiser.

Both races were due to take place on Sunday 18 April, however the challenges of planning an event on this scale given the current circumstances and uncertainty has led to the event organiser taking the decision to cancel – which British Cycling fully supports. The event will not be rescheduled in 2021.

We know that this news will come as a disappointment to teams, riders and spectators, however we remain fully committed to working with our event organisers and other key stakeholders to ensure that we can resume road racing at the earliest possible opportunity.

We look forward to returning to East Cleveland in the near future.
