British Cycling has today named the six riders who will race for Great Britain at the upcoming Tour of Britain.

Fresh from his Olympic debut and a strong performance at the Tour de l’Avenir, Ethan Vernon will join up with senior academy riders Rhys Britton, Alfie George, Max Rushby, Will Tidball and Sam Watson in the race, which starts in Cornwall on Sunday 5 September.

Great Britain Cycling Team Performance Director, Stephen Park, said: “The Tour of Britain gives our riders the development opportunity to pit themselves against some of the biggest names in the peloton, to race on home soil, feel the excitement of home crowds cheering them on as they develop their skills and seek to deliver performances on the world stage.

“After a year like no other, our Academy riders have delivered some fantastic performances on the road this season, so I’m looking forward to seeing them all continue to step up as they take on some of the world’s best road riders.”
