British Cycling can today announce the squad that will head to the 2024 UEC BMX Racing European Continental Championships for the final chance to collect all-important qualification points for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The event, which runs from 29 May – 2 June in Verona, Italy will see Emily Hutt compete in the under-23 women’s category after winning her second world championships silver medal in two years in Rock Hill last week. Hutt will be the sole female representative heading to Verona and the 19-year-old will be looking to bring home more silverware to add to her growing collection.
The elite men’s squad will be headed up by Olympic silver-medallist Kye Whyte who will be joined by Ross Cullen and Quillan Isidore as they all hope to solidify qualification spots for Paris after a mixed world championships.
Contesting the under-23 men’s title and aiming to get more competition experience under their belts will be developing riders Matt Gilston and Callum Russell.

I look forward to seeing how our riders make their mark on the European stage, in one of the final racing opportunities before Paris, and am excited to see some of our younger riders developing their racing skills on an international level.”
Challenge 8-10 categories and cruiser races kick off the competition on Friday 31st May, with junior, under-23 and elite events taking place on Saturday 1st June. The final day of competition will see challenge (11+) and team time-trials take place on Sunday 2nd June.
Competition updates will be shared on British Cycling’s social media channels, with an online report shared after Saturday’s competition.
