Do you want to be the next great British cyclist at a future Olympic Games? If you were born in 2010, 2011 or 2012, then we have an opportunity for you!
British Cycling is looking for the next crop of talented cyclists to take to the track and continue our proud track record of international success at the Olympic Games and beyond, following in the footsteps of Dame Laura Kenny, Emma Finucane, Katie Archibald and Jack Carlin. If you enjoy sports that are fast, exciting and tactical, British Cycling wants you!
The Talent ID Initiative will launch in March 2025 in a bid to identify the next crop of talented young athletes from across England, with those successful going on to join British Cycling’s Talent Development and Performance Pathways.
If you believe you have what it takes, the first step is to sign up on the form here before Sunday 30th March 2025 and you might be in with a chance to be invited to one of our three testing days at velodromes and testing facilities across England throughout April.
• Manchester – Thursday 17th April 2025
• London – Saturday 19th April 2025
• Derby – Monday 21st April 2025
You must be born in the years 2010, 2011 or 2012 to apply and be eligible for a British passport and currently not involved with track cycling as part of a club or team.
What it involves?
Our testing days will typically be made up of three parts:
1. Physical testing on Wattbikes which is a chance for you to show us what you can do on the bike;
2. A bleep test and long jump, for athletes to show a potential off the bike;
3. A short workshop and Q&A supporting you to get involved in the sport.
So, if you want to have chance at being the next Olympic track cyclist, now is your time to sign up and see if you’ve got what it takes.
