The 2016 British Cycling BMX Series comes to a close with champions decided in Telford, Shropshire at rounds 11 and 12 on 6-7 August.

How it works

Riders earn points based on their finishing position at each round of the series. A rider’s best seven results from a possible 12 rounds makes up their total. The rider collecting the most points in their respective category is crowned the series champion.

Superclass

Quillan Isidore and Curtis Manaton were involved in a superb battle at rounds nine and 10 in Blackpool

Quillan Isidore and Curtis Manaton were involved in a superb battle at rounds nine and 10 in Blackpool but it is Peckham Challengers BMX Club’s Isidore who tops the standings on 642 points to Manaton’s 547.

But Burnham BMX Club’s Manaton has only raced six rounds and could significantly boost his overall score with two strong rides over the weekend.

Paddy Sharrock, Tre Whyte, Tian Isidore and Euan Hunt are all capable of making the podium, adding a number of potential scenarios to how the series winner will be decided.

Bethany Shriever has dominated the series, the junior world time trial silver medallist winning eight of the 10 rounds she has raced to build an unassailable lead with 699.5 points in the standings.
