British Cycling is pleased to confirm that Shrewsbury Sports Village will host the 2020 HSBC UK | National Cyclo-cross Championships.
The championships will take place between 11 and 12 January 2020, representing a first return to the well-established Shropshire venue since 2016.
The announcement comes off the back of the staging of this year’s championships, which were held at Gravesend’s Cyclopark at saw Nikki Brammeier and Tom Pidcock respectively claim the elite national titles.
Event organiser, Dave Mellor, said:
“We are delighted to be staging the 2020 HSBC UK | National Cyclo-cross Championships at Shrewsbury Sports Village. We implemented several key course changes for this season’s round of the HSBC UK | National Trophy Series, which resulted in riders tackling the course in the opposite direction to that of recent years.
“These changes were well received, and will provide a good basis for the organisation of next year’s national championships.”
British Cycling has also confirmed the six host venues for the 2019/20 HSBC UK | National Trophy Series, which will begin at Moorways, Derby, and conclude at York Sports Village. Two venues – Westmorland Showground in Cumbria and Pembrey Country Park in Carmarthenshire – will make their debut appearances in the series, while Irvine Beach Park and the South of England Showground will also host rounds.
