About our club

Welcome! We are Barnsley Road Club, a small but passionate cycling club based in the South Yorkshire town of Barnsley. With the Pennine hills to our West and the flatlands of the Humber to our East, we are perfectly situated for great cycling.

We start young with our Go-Ride accredited junior section who meet regularly each week for fun coached learning. We encourage new recreational riders to join our free Welcome Rides for road and gravel riding during the Spring and Summer months.

Our traditional Sunday club runs hit the road each week, with three different ability groups taking a ride out to some of the most beautiful areas (and best cafés) in the region. We also run a Thursday evening gravel ride throughout the year.

For the racers out there, the Club organises cycle sports events including road races, closed road circuit races and evening time-trials.

Finally, we campaign on behalf of all cyclists in the area as part of Barnsley Council's Cycle Forum and work with British Cycling Yorkshire Region to enhance cycling for all.
