About our club

The Carse of Gowrie is the picturesque rural area between Dundee and Perth in the very heart of Tayside. Famous for its soft fruit farms it is an area with many miles of unclassified and other minor roads that follow the river on largely flat or head on over to the Vale of Strathmore through one of the many hill passes. This is an area rich in opportunity for cyclists of all abilities and interests.

COG Velo started as a few cycling enthusiasts getting together regularly in 2010 and has grown to become a club with riders who have taken in part in many sportives, road racing, time trialing, cyclocross racing and mountain bike events. We aim to be a sociable and approachable club that contributes to the local cycling calendar and cycling development initiatives.

We hold weekly club rides on Monday and Thursday evenings with the Monday ride more tailored towards the female cyclist. Both rides meet in the carpark behind the Inchture Primery School at 6.30pm. Most weekends members are out riding together around Perthshire and our neighboring Tayside regions of Angus and North Fife.

New club members receive a free COG Velo gift, and get access to the Facebook members area. Please email captain@cogvelo.co.uk to arrange gift collection. Club kit ordering generally happens least twice a year, and is for paid club members only.

Disclaimer:
All rides are at your own risk. Please ensure that you have your own third party insurance (check your house insurance) and consider CTC or British Cycling membership.
