Level 3 Certificate Coaching Road and Time Trial Cycling- Route 1
What will I learn?
The Level 3 Route 1 Consists of two programmes of face-to-face study. The level 3 Route 1 Core Unit and the Level 3 Road and Time Trial Specific Unit.
The core unit is a 4 day course which is composed of sixteen compulsory modules:
Day 1:
- Training Theory (1): Principles
- Performance Benchmarks and Event Demands
- Coach Rider Partnership
- Drug Free Cycling
Day 2:
- Introduction to Sports Science and Nutrition
- Training Theory (2): On the Bike
- Analysing Performance
- Training Theory (3): Cross Training
Day 3:
- Coach Rider Partnership (2)
- Planing Training
- Prescribing Training
- Enhancing Race Performance
Day 4:
- Working with Young Riders
- Working with Groups
- Evaluating Training
- Improving Your Coaching
Assessment
The assessment of route 1 has three components:
- Observation of practical coaching
- Written assessment task
- Practical coaching experience log
