The cycle speedway commission is delighted to today publish its strategic development report for the discipline.
This has taken a few months, and has had input from across the sport, with all clubs having had the opportunity to contribute. With a great level of consensus across the sport on this project, the commission is pleased that this is a recovery plan proposed by the British cycle speedway community as a whole.
The commission would now like to highlight how important the follow through is, with clubs volunteering to test out the various initiatives. A working group has been established to continue the work started with this report and the commission looks forward to engaging with all clubs on the further development of the discipline.
Cycle Speedway Commission Chair, Mike Hack, said:
"I commend this important strategy plan, which aims to increase awareness, support and participation in Cycle Speedway. The discipline is very accessible and affordable, so this strategy to increase the number of tracks and participation levels is important, not only for cycle speedway, but cycling as a whole, in order to increase levels and spread of cycling participation."
