Copeland Sports Academy, Whitehaven
Event 01 June 2013

Building on 2012’s successful events, Summer Cyclo Cross returns to Cumbria with a series of events across the county. Last year saw some fantastic racing with the young riders from Cumbrian clubs Beacon Wheelers, Cyclewise Academy, Lakeland Spirinters and Furness Future Flyers doing battle across a range of different courses, with Penrith’s Beacon Wheelers finishing as the premier club.

Event one returns to the Cumbria Sports Academy Whitehaven on Saturday 1 June, with a circuit using the banks, playing fields and the ‘famous’ sandpit within the confines of the stadium. The races are aimed at all from novice to experienced riders. You do not have to belong to a club, or enter the event beforehand. You can ride any bike, mountain bikes are suitable, just turn up before the event pay a small entry fee to cover costs and insurance, collect a number and get ready to race

Following feed back from last years events Under 12s and youths will have two events to participate in, a ‘pursuit’ style time trial and a traditional cyclo cross race.
