The riders get off the start

Paul Oldham led from start to finish in the opening round of the 2009-10 North East Cyclo-Cross series, staged in the picturesque setting of Hawes in the heart of Wensleydale. Oldham briefly had Stuart Wearmouth and Mark Thwaites for company before putting his foot down on the second lap, and thereafter he was never challenged. Wearmouth held on for second place, and these three were the only riders on the same lap at the end of the race.

The race featured electronic timing, which is beginning to creep into Cyclo-Cross. A full, detailed xls spreadsheet of the results, including lap-by-lap splits is also available as a download.
