Big Guns Head to Wakefield for North of England Championships

With just over 2 weeks to go, the entry list is looking stong for the 2009 North of England Championships, which are held on Sunday 6th December at Wakefield's Thornes Park. To date there are over 150 entries spread across the various race categories. Entries include current Senior National Trophy front runners Paul Oldham and Stuart Wearmouth, National Vet and Junior series leaders Chris Young and Tom Moses, plus a host of other top-ranked riders, including Three Peaks legend Robb Jebb.

The Wakefield course used for 2009 is similar to that which has been utilised in previous years, albeit with one or two extra technical sections including an additional log jump. The course is a testing mixture of open parkland and tricky wooded sections and has proved a popular venue in the Yorkshire race calendar.

The event is pre-entry only. Organiser Andy Blanshard of Wakefield Triathlon has extended the entry deadline to Friday 30th November (prior notification/details by email would be appreciated).

Details of the event can be found on the Yorkshire Cyclocross website: www.yorkshirecyclocross.org.uk
