Luke Grivell Mellor (Mid-Shropshire Wheelers) eased his way to victory at the Choose Cycling Scramble, round four of the Waldrons Solicitors West Midlands League.
Luke took the bull by the horns from the start, opening up a gap on the first lap and extending it steadily from then on.
The closest rider was some two minutes down and came in the form of Darren Atkins (Team Jewson), while in third was Neil Hayward (SportsTest.com).
In the Veterans over-40 category Steve Knight (Team Jewson) was in a class of his own, strolling his way to victory, while the junior race was fought out between Joe Fox (Rapha Condor) and Jacob James (Halesowen A&CC). Fox, the stronger of the two, just edged ahead of James to take the top junior spot.
Pete Harris (Pearce Cycles) took the spoils in the over-50s category, whilst Hannah Payton (Kinesis Morvelo) eased her way to a win in the woman's event.
The youth race was typically contested by the Solihull CC trio of Ethan Lee, Jack Ravenscroft and Danny Fox. However, this was interrupted by Chris Welburn (Lichfield City CC) who took third spot ahead of Lee whilst Ravenscroft won over Fox who finished second.
