In the first race since securing the Elmy Cycles Eastern League title back in December, Andrew Nichols once again took first place in the round 13 event at Furze Hill, Mistley, on Sunday.
It was another dominant display from the PCA Ciclos Uno rider, completing the race in 55 minutes and 41 seconds.
The 22-year-old’s closest competitor on the day was 40-year-old elite veteran Greg Simcock (Team Scott) who finished the course one minute and 53 seconds later. Hayden Wood (unattached), who sits second in the league, came in third, just two seconds after Simcock.
In the veterans 50+ race, Phil Buick of Iceni Velo came out on top with Sherilyn Powell (Chelmer CC) the fastest woman.
In the youth category, Theo Doncaster completed his four laps in 29 minutes and 44 seconds to take victory.
The CC Ashwell rider was comfortable, opening up a gap of around two-and-a-half minutes in front of James Madgwick (Lee Valley Youth CC) in second place.
The quickest under 14 on the day was Mitchell Powell of Chelmer CC and fastest girl was Francesca Morgans of Lee Valley Youth CC.
In the under 12s, Pierce Bacon (Ipswich BC) finished first, in the under 10s, Aaron Freeman (Chelmer CC) was over the line first and for the under 8s it was Tom Davies (Welwyn Wheelers CC).
