The 'Gale presents the 41st running of the Sam Robinson Memorial Road Race.

The race will be run as part of the WoSCA Road Race Series 2015.

There is in an alteration to the course this year. The route will start in Aberfoyle and finishes at the top of the Dukes pass. This removes the need to go through Aberfoyle town centre on a holiday weekend and allows us to start the race slightly later than we would otherwise. This will hopefully allow riders from further afield to attend. The proposed route can be found below:

The route is subject to change as late as the morning of the race, should there be any road works or similar.

Selection of Riders

Riders will be selected following the WoSCA Series RR Rules. These are listed below:

The field for all races will be selected using the following criteria in order until the field is full:

1.  All Juniors
2. 10 places will be allocated to Women
3. Remaining field:

1^st claim – Riders from any club in the West of Scotland organising a road race in 2015

2^nd claim – Riders from other West of Scotland Clubs

3^rd claim – All others based on merit

Reg B – 50% 3^rd Cat, 50% 4^th Cat

Please note the organiser’s decision is final regarding race selection criteria. 

In addition to the above. The Sam Robinson RR is a difficult race to marshall and we are always short of marshalls. This is a challenge that has in previous years, put the race at risk. If any rider is travelling with support, and they would be willing to marshall then I will look favourably on their race entry.

Info for Riders

Riders note, the race HQ has changed this year and will be in the Aberfoyle Memorial Halls, on the left hand side of the road leaving Aberfoyle just as you start up the Dukes pass. Please DO NOT park outside the hall. There is parking in the centre of Aberfoyle, a short walk from the HQ. Please note, unfortunately there are no showering facilities at the hall.
