Ride Like a Grrl

MTB XC , Aviemore – Sunday, 27 Sep 2015

Event Summary

Event Overview

The Adventure route will be 25-28km and we believe it to be achievable by mountain bikers with basic off-road riding skills. It will be a challenge for riders new to biking and a blast for more experienced riders. It will include single-track, small obstacles of root and rock and a stream crossing. The gradient will be mostly moderate but will include steep sections. A good standard of fitness will help.

The longer Epic route takes you on to more technical sections and will be 30-40km with more total ascent.  This route is for proficient mountain bikers with a good quality mountain bike.  The route will be steeper and tougher than the Adventure with more single-track, rocky and rooty sections.  There will be a wide range of climbs (potentially short sections of hike-and-bike) and descents of a challenging nature. A good standard of fitness and stamina will be needed.

The race will be timed from start to finish, but for the first time, Ride Like a Grrl is going to have optional timed segments within both routes.

A mountain bike is essential for both routes as is a bell (some of the route is on public footpaths).
