Youth A and B eligible for Championship only. Youth C events will mirror the championship events but are not part of the National Competition.

Racing starts at 10am. There will be track warm up from 0915 to 0945 for riders who have signed on and are displaying a number. This is to allow marshalls to identify riders if necessary.

Programme of Events

Where practicable, separate races shall be organised for each category. Exceptionally, where the number of entries is low, categories may be combined in bunch events, subject to the prior approval of British Cycling.

A rider may enter any group but must only participate in any one group in any given year.

Category A and B competition shall comprise five events scheduled in the order listed below:

i) 1 Km Standing Start Time Trial. Hand held start may be used, but with no push permitted. Multi station may be used where needed, up to a maximum of 2 riders.

ii) Elimination Race.

iii) Scratch Race. Distance 8 – 10 km for youth A, 5 – 6 km for youth B.

iv) 1500m Keirin. Seeding is based on that day’s omnium standings after the first three rounds. Match A Keirin for 1st to 6th placed riders Match B Keirin for 7th to 12th Match C Keirin for 13th to 18th And so on. The final keirin match may comprise up to eight riders. Note: the pacer must pull out with approx. 500 metres remaining at a point agreed by the chief commissaire.

v) Points Race. Distance 10 – 12 km for youth A, 8 – 10 km for youth B. There shall be six sprint laps per race on pre-determined laps equally spread out by distance, with the first four riders over the line gaining 5, 3, 2, 1 points respectively except for the final sprint on the last lap where points of 10, 6, 4 and 2 points respectively shall be awarded. Riders gaining a lap on the main field shall be awarded 10 points per lap gained. Riders losing a lap on the field shall be deducted 10 points per lap lost.
