Ben Wyvis Cycle Club is proud to host the second round of the Scottish Cycling North Cyclocross series at the Black Isle Showground, Muir of Ord.

Course Details:

A fast flowing 2.9km loop round areas of the showground and adjacent heath and woodland. Flat out over ever-changing surfaces including gravel road, grass, concrete and path both manmade and natural. This is classic cyclocross with sections of grass track, dead turns and barriers, short steep climbs and descents, cambers, steps, run ups and tight twisty turns. At the heart of the course, parts of the old 1980’s BMX track of the “Tarradale Tigers” have been uncovered to reveal rollers and tyre-lined sections of track now with a muddy grass covering. The old concrete start ramp is included but as this is 'cross, don’t expect to ride down it!

Directions:

From A9 Tore Roundabout, exit along the A832 to Muir of Ord. Follow this road for approximately 5 miles. Turn left onto the B9169 signposted “Muir of Ord industrial estate” turn right into the main showground entrance and park as directed.

From Beauly, follow the A862 to Muir of Ord. Turn right into the Industrial Estate on the B9169. Turn left into the showground.

Rider Information:

Under 10/12’s will race on a shortened course with no shouldering of the bike.

Under 14/16 's may race a shortened course depending on conditions.

Mountain bikes as well as Cyclocross bikes are accepted in all categories.

Pits will be marked out for bike / wheel changes if required.

On site catering will be available to purchase

Sign on is at the Race HQ which will be open at 10:00am.

• If you are not a British Cycling member, you will have to pay a Day Licence/ Membership (no cost for U16s, £3 for all other categories) Please have a cheque or cash to pay at sign on.
• At Sign On, the team will instruct you where to pin your Race Number and how to wear the Electronic Timing Chip.

Closing date for entries  Wednesday 14th February at 10pm.

On-line entry only for all categories.

£1 British Cycling fee is charged at point of on-line payment.
