Event Overview

This early season leg warmer starts at the Observatory Science Centre, Herstmonceux and offers two distances, the Epic at 102km or the Challenge at 66km. Through the Sussex High Weald and the Ashdown Forest, undulating country lanes with very little traffic, these rides challenge you to take on some of the finest climbs that East Sussex has to offer.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Registration opens at 07:00am at the observatory science centre, Herstmonceux castle, Wartling road, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 1RN – Parking on the field outside the Science Centre, follow directions of the marshals. Please note that if the ground is wet, we will need to use the hard standing car parks, if this is the case please park carefully and courteously.

Start Times: The long route riders will be starting at 08:30am and the short route riders at 09:00am,

Time Cut Off: The timing system cut off is 15:00pm (giving you 6 hours) any riders finishing after that will be listed as DNF. There will be Beachy Head CC sweep team following up behind and a broom wagon behind them clearing the route markers.

Long Route - The Huntsman Public House, Groombridge Ln, Eridge, Rotherfield, Tunbridge Wells TN3 9LE

Short Route - Broad Oak Village Hall, Heathfield TN21 8SS

Food & Drink: We will have caterers at the Science Centre serving food from 06:30am till 15:00pm.

Emergency’s: If you need assistance while out on the course please, make sure you know where you are using your smartphone or asking a local before you contact the HQ on 07494 227047, if you require medical assistance on the course that requires hospital treatment please call an ambulance before contacting HQ.
