Event Overview

23 March Update: Following today's announcement  by British Cycling to suspend racing until at least 30 June, this event is at best postponed, and in all likelihood cancelled. However if things improve after 30 June, consideration will be given to a curtailed program later in the season.

This is Day 2 of a 2 Day Championships.

Please note that entries close 21 days before ie. 0900 on Sunday 24 May. There will be no extension, and there will be no dialogue with late entries. To be eligible, please note that as per British Cycling Tech Reg R9.1 you must have a UCI recognised licence showing your Nationality as "GBR". In addition per Tech Reg R9.3 and R9.4 there must be a minimum of 3 entries in any one category for a Championship to be awarded.

The Harvey Hadden circuit was purpose built in 2015. It is 1.5km long, with several technical bends, and one undulation. Refer to Harvey Hadden website for a satellite view of the circuit.

These Championships are for riders aged 30 upwards (and whose 30th birthday falls between 1 January and 31 December during 2020), irrespective of your licence category. They are held over 2 full days and there are Championships for each 5 year age group (subject to a minimum entry of 3 in each 5 year age group). As an example, if you start 2020 aged 44, but turn 45 before 31 December, then you will be in the 45-49 age group. Wherever entry numbers, and time, permit, we will run as many separate races as possible in 5 year age groups - where this is not feasible, age groups will be combined, with separate results per 5 year age group. Race Fields will be limited to 50. Subject to entry numbers we reserve the right to amend the schedule. There are currently 11 races scheduled. And please note that this circuit is not approved for Concurrent races.

The basis of accepting entrance is "best field" - per age category. This will of course only need to be applied if a race is oversubscribed, at which time licence category and current year licence points will be the determining factors. Thus technically we cannot accept any entries until after the closing date. However, from past experience, at least in the older age groups we are unlikely to be oversubscribed in E/1/2 cats. To ease cashflow, there may be some "early" acceptance of these categories.

If you change club after entering please do let us know asap so that we can update records accordingly. Doing it after the close date and the Race Book has been issued is too late.

At 4pm on this day there is also a 3/4 cat support race - The Summer Criterium - which you are also welcome to enter. If you have ridden the Championships, and you pre-enter this event, there will be a £5 discount at Sign On.
