MTB Pathway Development Session(PDS)

For Riders who are Youth B 2nd Year, A & Junior in 2022 - Born 2004 to 2008

Welsh Eligible (Born in Wales, Parents Welsh or Lived in Wales for more than 5yrs).  

Pathway Development Sessions are aimed at competitive young athletes to help develop their competition skills I the Commonwealth Games disciplines of cycling.

The purpose of the sessions is to provide group coaching and education to young athletes to help improve their performance and race craft.

Across the sessions offered, education will include core topics such as;

-          Planning your Training.

-          Nutrition.

-          Tactical / technical aspects of your discipline.

-          Strength and conditioning.

-          Lifestyle.

Coaching will include the many aspects of your chosen discipline

Info for Riders

Ensure that Riders are suitable dressed and equipped for this session.

Information for BC On line Registration - Covid 19

  • Please ensure that Emergency Contact details are up to date when booking through British Cycling On line System.
  • Must arrive 15mins before session and be ready to ride
  • Must leave immediately after session up to 15mins of end of session.
  • Information required under NHS Track & Trace will be stored as per GDPR
  • Potential lack of OR no toilet /changing facilities at venue.
  • Participants cannot attend if household member displays any Covid symptoms within last 14 days or prior to session.

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
a high temperature: this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

a new, continuous cough: this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste: this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Most people with coronavirus have at least one of these symptoms.

  • Equipment – all in good working order and appropriate for session, no equipment sharing.
  • Riders to be self-sufficient, food and drink, mask, hand sanitiser, tools, pump etc. and in a bag with their name on it. They will be advised where to put it during session.
  • Coach to notify riders that they will be contacted if Coach contracts Covid 19 and if any rider contracts it they must let the coach know so to advise rest of the group.
  • Be mindful of Social Distancing and Hygiene guidance
