About the Event

Info for Riders

The Wylam on Wheels routes will start and finish on the Jubilee Playing Field, Main Road, Wylam, NE41 8DN

The entry fee is £20 for adults or £5 for riders who are under 16. All entry fee money goes to support the Wylam Playing Fields Association.

The Couch to 25km route is aimed at those who enjoy a leisurely cycle or those who have a bike but don't use it much!   Time to get that bike out of the shed! Follow a "couch to 25km" programme to prepare.

The route starts in Wylam, heads out through Ovingham to Bywell along flat roads. Crossing Bywell Bridge we head up towards New Ridley and Hindley before turning back towards Stocksfield. The loop finishes by returning over Bywell bridge to Ovingham and back to Wylam. This is a route that anyone with even modest fitness can do on pretty much any kind of bike!

The Couch to 50km route gives the option of a second circuit for those who want to achieve the notable milestone of a 50km cycle.

The 60km Challenger Route may not be far for many regular cyclists, but we have chosen a hilly route including Hedley on the Hill, Kiln Pit Hill and Slaley. Three challenging climbs with beautiful scenery on quiet roads.
