Ride and shine with the Commonwealth Games taking place in Birmingham it’s a summer of sport and we are bringing lots of fun cycling activities to you.

PNECC are hosting an entry level cycling competition, perfect for friends, families and first timers.  Whether you are already a club member or not, join us for fun, accessible activities that will show you surprising ways you can get outside and ride.

As a club we welcome all ages and activities and the event is all about having a great time.  It doesn’t matter if you’re aiming for the top podium or taking the first steps in cycling we’d love to see you.’

Portsmouth North End Cycling Club presents the Dick Evans' Memorial Race Series powered by NoPinz. Dick Evans (1930-2021), was our former PNECC Club President, lifelong local cyclist, racer and local record holder. This Memorial Race Series was awarded by British Cycling South Region in conjunction with the Mountbatten Development Plan objectives: increase new participants, introduce innovative partnerships and promote the city’s local cycling circuit.

PNECC are delighted to have the support of NoPinz as primary sponsor, providing Race Series Leader jerseys and vouchers for overall individual winners in all categories. VC St Raphael are providing prize money for the overall winning team (best 3 riders) in the E/1/2 category. Project 51 will provide chip timing instant race results each evening.

Info for Riders

The First Timers' Go-Race for Event #1 and #6 are for those individuals over the age of 16 (male or female) who have never raced before, but are currently members of British Cycling and only hold a Provisional Race Licence; for those who are not members, there is an additional payment of £5.

The Youth races for U14 & U16 Boys and Girls will consist of a Scratch Race: winner gets 1 point, 2^nd gets 2 points etc, within the race there will also be Prime points for top 5: first = -5, second = -4 and so on. The Scratch race will be followed by a 10 lap Points race - points every lap (first = 1, second =2 and so on) - lowest points wins. For the overall win across the eight-race series the best 5 results for an individual will count.

NOTE: As a hybrid track, all races will be on road bikes.

For the 3^rd Cat and E/1/2 races, the best 8 results will count to decide the overall winner.
