Event Summary

Event Overview

The Otley One - Reliability Ride Sunday 5th February 2023

£5 on-line including includes £1 BC admin fee.

This is Ride 4 of the 'Terrific Ten' Yorkshire Reliability Rides

A Reliability ride is all about participants demonstrating that they are a ‘reliable rider’, by completing a ride within a specified time. Otley Cycle Club's has two routes:

  • 90K ride to Kettlewell and return in 3.5 hours (now shortened to 80K following a road closure. The ride will now turn left at Conistone joining the original route by Kilnsey, avoiding Kettlewell)
  • 50K ride to Strid Wood team rooms, nr Barden Tower and return in 3 hours.

Groups of cyclists work together to ensure that they get around the course safely and within time. All riders are required to be self-sufficient;  They need to repair their own bikes and take any food etc. with them on the ride.

This event takes place on the open roads and rules of the Highway Code must be followed at all times. The wearing of suitable cycle helmets on the event is also mandatory.

This reliability ride has been going for over 20 years. Profits go towards Otley Cycle Club's work to promote cycling.  It is essential that you register for the event otherwise you won't be insured.
