British Cycling Pathway Development Centre – South Zone 1:

Deep South Club Cluster coaching - Andover, Bournemouth, Gosport, Runnymede and Knightwood for club members nominated by their club coaches. Strictly by invitation only.

WORLD CHAMPS PREP SPECIAL: GLASGOW - limited spaces available, please register and two groups will be created. This event is an all-day session, plenty of track time but plenty of breaks too, to enable riders to get the most out of the time on track and keep everyone safe. 

As usual, there will be at least two BC Level 2 BMX-specific coaches on hand throughout the sessions. Luther will be our Safeguarding Officer and there will be sufficient first aid provision.

 

Outline programme (subject to change): 

0900 Group 1 coaching part 1 1030 Group 2 coaching part 1 1200 Group 1 coaching part 2 1330 Group 2 coaching part 2 1500 Race sim (Groups 1+2; 3 laps ea) 1630 Open Gates/freeride (Groups 1+2) 1800 End   Groups will be planned based on ability and to balance numbers; Group 1 will be younger riders and Group 2 focused on older/experienced riders; 30+ riders will balance group numbers; all riders will be in similar ability sub-groups within each coaching session.   

As with all Development Centre sessions we ask that all riders arrive in plenty of time and with the requisite protection and enough water and appropriate snacks to last the duration.

About the 2022-3 programme:

The Deep South Development Centre has partnered with Bournemouth University to deliver this winter’s programme for 10-12 year olds and 13-16 year olds meeting core criteria and put forward by their club coaches. The centre includes a dedicated girls-only group.

The Centre serves Andover, Bournemouth, Gosport and Knightwood and other local BMX racers. It is run by Steve, John and Eric – all qualified Level 2 BMX specific coaches.

Through the partnership, additional support will be available to NSR and NSR-candidate riders including tailored programmes, S&C advice, issue-specific workshops, Wattbike testing, mental preparation, wellbeing and nutrition advice and much more.
