SUMMARY

A day of racing for all categories, ranging from youth (U8) up to Masters, all at Colchester Northern Gateway Sports Park.

This event is promoted by Colchester Rovers CC in memory of the late Tony Asplin.

Colchester Rovers each year has historically put on a summer race, the Abberton Road Race.

For a second year running, it will be The Tony Asplin Memorial Race, and we feel this is a very fitting tribute to Tony.

Tony lived and breathed the Colchester Rovers, he loved this club and dedicated a huge amount of time to it, through being the club secretary and working out most of the results from our different race events, helping at every event we put on and in his own true to self-style, supporting each participant. Tony was also a BC commissaire, so not only supported us but also other clubs round the country.

Colchester Rovers, one of the UK’s oldest cycling clubs, works to bring young and older riders into the sport through coaching, riding and racing opportunities.

BC ranking points will be available for all events for Youth B and above. Please refer to the British Cycling website for an explanation on the age categories as well as gear restrictions which apply to youth races.
