Event Overview

The first in a series of events run by Cheltenham Town Wheelers (CTW) at their home turf, Pittville Park, Cheltenham.

This is an entry level Go-Ride event focusing on young riders and introducing novice adult riders to a cyclocross event.

Age categories and race times as below:

6:00 - 6:10pm - U8's race for 10 minutes
6:20 - 6:35pm - U10/U12's race for 15 minutes

6:45pm - podiums for U8/10/12's

7:15 - 7:45pm - U14/16's race for 30 minutes
8:00 - 8:30pm - Juniors/Novice race for 30 minutes

8:45pm - podiums for all remaining races

Info for Riders

Sign on and practice

Sign on and course practice from 5:30pm

  • U8/10/12 course practice from 5:30pm
  • U14/16/junior/novice course practice from 6:45pm

Location 

Event will be held at Pittville Park, Cheltenham.  Parking is limited, access to Prince of Wales stadium car parks behind the course (be aware of the height barrier!) for event parking.  Please do not park on the road.

Guidance for the event

Riders must ensure they have the following with them in order to take part:

  • a quality, well-fitting cycle helmet (children will not be permitted to participate otherwise)
  • a suitable bike for the location, which is a grass course, and it needs to be in good working order
  • appropriate clothing to cycle in and for the weather conditions (e.g. hopefully some sunscreen!)
  • additional clothing to keep warm and dry between activities
  • any medication they may require 
  • a water bottle and snacks
  • They must also be able to ride on grass and as a guide be able to ride for the race duration without a break.

CTW Tea tent

Tea, coffee, cold drinks and snacks will be available. The event will be cashless but cards are taken.
