Event Overview

This FREEWHEEL event promoted by RRPCC and HACC will allow novice riders to have a go at track racing before racing in other regional events. All riders will have the chance to do 3 or 4 separate races that will be scored in an omnium format. While the event is open to all riders, if there are more experienced riders taking part then can they please be aware of novice riders and try to make this an enjoyable day of racing to encourage more riders to race across the region

Pre-entry £3, on the day £5

Entries will not be accepted until we confirm the event will not have to be postponed due to the weather. We will let you know this as early as possible. This means the event entry fee will not be taken until the event is confirmed to go ahead. If you apply to enter the race you will be accepted to ride closer to the day

The track will be open for warm-up at 10:00. Racing starts at 11:00 for U12s and at approximately 14:00 for over 12s. This may change slightly but an updated timetable will be sent out closer to the date.

Results and prizes for the youth riders will be given out on the day

There will be an option for all over 12s to have a go on a track bike for the first time with 15 mins of coaching

There are bikes available to hire but please let me know what size you may like before so we can get it sorted

Age categories:

Youth A (U16): 2007-2008

Youth B (U14): 2009-2010

Youth C (U12): 2011-2012

Youth D (U10): 2013-2014

Youth E (U8): 2015-2019

There is a novice adult race that is designed for adults to have a go at their first race in a different discipline or to gain confidence. If this is not you then please have a look for a different race as we are trying to promote a nice environment for beginner races across the area.

If youth riders would like to race in a different age category to have a more interesting race please enter into the category for their age and send me an email separately and I will move the rider into a different category if I feel it is appropriate.

We may adjust the limit on the races depending on interest
