Event Overview

The Haughcross is coming back from it's break!    Pedal Power, InspireWMN and a wee team of top event organisers have voluntarily clubbed together to put the event on.  If you love Summer Cross, join the fun and meet us down the Park.     To celebrate 40 years of the Aberdour Festival the Haughcross will form part of the celebrations on Saturday 29th July 2023.       During the afternoon a children's series called the Kingdom Crits will take place.  Tickets are available on https://active.fife.scot/activities/campaigns/fife-loves-cycling   The Haughcross CycloCross race will take place after the kids under British Cycling regulations.     This 2km course will be contain some beach related features like sharks, jellyfish and killer seals.  So grease the cogs, get your togs on and enter now to avoid missing out on some summer fun.     The Aberdour Festival Marquee will be up with food stalls (with beer n Gin) for spectators and a family Ceilidh will be with some banging tunes for the night.       Racing will be as follows;   The Relaxed ride:  suitable for newbies, out of season or returning to fitness riders and eBikes.   You'll ride your own personal best for 30mins.  All genders.   Separate prizes including most determined, best effort and cleanest bike (at the end!).     A mixed bag:  Women of all ages and Open category for men aged 50+  you will ride your own race for 40mins.   If we get more than 30 women we will create a women's only race.     The fast and the furiously chilled:  Men 17yr and above who know they are fit and fast.     If categories explode with entries we can add another race.
