ERC Youth Dirt Crit

MTB XC , Edinburgh – Saturday, 19 Aug 2023

Event Summary

Event Overview

This is a beginners' event for Edinburgh RC (ERC) members and those enthused by the World Cycling Championships held in Scotland in 2023.  New riders may join ERC via https://edinburghrc.co.uk/erc-youth.  Contact the organiser if you are unsure about the event.

A dirt crit is a cross-country mountain bike race for young riders aged 6 to 16. They are entry-level events for younger riders and for new riders.

Each rider will take part in three races, a time trial (TT,) a mass start race and a team relay race. The course will take place on a mixture of grass trails and dirt tracks, although any 'road-worthy' bike can be used, it is recommended that riders have knobbly tyres and low gears.  Bike change and pits are not permitted during the event. There are no BC points on offer.

The courses will be designed to ensure you are able to have fun, have a go and join a team.

This is one of three events post Worlds events organised by ERC.  The others are the Inch Park CX and the post worlds crit in Linlithgow.  These three events will form a club championship for our younger youth members.
