Event Summary

Event Overview

Herculean Sportive follow in the paw prints of Britain's friendliest bear . Hercules the bear escaped whilst filming a TV advert in Uist. He traversed the islands in 24 days before he was recaptured. Your challenge is to cycle 2, 3 , 4 or 5 of the islands in one day. The sportive are 49, 60 ,80 and 100 miles and cover 2, 3 , 4 or 5 islands. Roads in Uist are mainly singletrack with passing places and relatively traffic free. You can expect to see Sea Eagles and an array of wild birds as well as Otters and seals during your ride. Hopefully you will also see the islands of Vallay and St Kilda during the ride . We run a small event with a friendly low cost attitude to cycle events. You can expect good highland hospitality during and after the event and a great welcome to our unspoilt islands. Be sure to visit Hercules and his owner Andy Robbins  at their  resting place in  Langass woods . There are an abundance of good quality restaurants selling local seafood and produce throughout the islands .
