Event Summary

Event Overview

We are delighted to invite you this year's Red Kite Ride will take place on Sunday 1st September 2024.

This event started in 2011 and has phenomenal support raising funds for local charities.

Hosted  entirely by volunteers from Marlow Riders Cycling Club in Buckinghamshire to raise money for local charities, the event has raised £120000 over the last ten years. The Red Kite Ride (RKR) gives riders a taste of the Chilterns, a top UK cycling destination. Beautiful rolling countryside, home to the graceful Red Kite, provides challenging climbs rewarded with sweeping descents.

We have four exciting routes, 100, 80 ,50 and 39 miles and wonderful feed stations with a large range of sweet and savory snacks catering for all and a big welcome at Marlow Sports Club, featuring Marlow FM, sports massage, burgers and hot dogs, plus local Rebellion beer served at the bar.

There are conveniently spaced feed stations at roughly 25 mile intervals and toilet facilities.  All routes take you through quintessential English villages and countryside, filming locations for Midsomer Murders, Vicar of Dibley, Lewis, Miss Marple, Jonathan Creek, returning to Marlow across the iconic Grade I listed Marlow Bridge.

Marlow Red Kite Charity Ride – the friendly sportive

The Early Bird entry fee is £35, rising to £39 on 1st  April, with all proceeds, after running costs, going to charity as we are completely supported by volunteers.
