Event Overview

The Black Isle Mountain Bike Club Downhill Race is a short course aimed at younger riders aged between 8 to 16 years old.

All technical features that cannot be rolled will have an option of an “A” and “B” line. The “A” line will be the harder main line and “B” line will be the easier alternative.

The race will be run under British and Scottish Cycling rules and the Mountain Bike Downhill specific regulations.

Age categories for riders are as follows:

Under 16/Youth        (Year of birth 2008 & 2009)

Under 14/Juvenile    (Year of birth 2010 & 2011)

Under 12                  (Year of birth 2012 & 2013)

Under 10                  (Year of birth 2014 & 2015)

The following are approximate times; every attempt will be made to keep to this schedule.

Sign on opens                              8.30 to 10:00

Track walk                                    8.30 to 9.45

Marshall briefing                           9.15

Rider briefing                               9.45

Marshalls on course                     9.50

Course opens for practice            10.00 to 12:00

Course Closed                             12:00

First Race runs begin                   12:30

Second Race runs begin              13:45

Prize giving                                   15:30

Please note that a Full Face helmet MUST be worn at all times when you are on the downhill course.

 

Ebikes are not to be used for towing racers to the start gate, anyone found doing so will be disqualified from the race.
