Event Overview

Tour de Fox is back....

This is a Charity Bike ride organised by Finnbar's Force https://finnbarsforce.org

Finnbar's Force was set up at the start of 2017 following the loss of Tristan and Claire's son Finnbar to an aggressive brain tumour in August 2016.

This will be a poignant ride as it will be 8 years since Finnbar died on August 5th 2016.

Finnbar's Force was set up in 2017 after the loss of Finnbar Cork to a brain tumour on Friday 5th August 2016, just five months after he was diagnosed. The charity provides support to families with children under 18 who have been diagnosed with brain tumours and childhood cancers in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The charity is committed to making every family feel that they are supported when and where they need to be and they have a small team of volunteers to support families emotionally and practically, in their homes and at hospital. They have also developed an information toolkit for families to direct them to the best online resources and support them in connecting with other charities and services that can help them locally.

In May 2024 we will have opened our first Family Support Centre in Eaton, Norwich which is a big milestone for the charity and will allow us to increase the support we offer on a daily and weekly basis to families. The team know that dealing with a paediatric brain tumour can be an incredibly challenging and emotional experience, and their Family Support Centre will aim to ease some of the burdens by offering various forms of emotional/psychological support, networking, practical assistance, and information.

50 Mile Route

This is a two-lap course starting at Hethersett Village Hall and coming back to the feed hub at the 25 mile mark. For the second 25 miles you will be doing it in reverse.

The 25 mile lap will take you through the undulating roads of the Norfolk Countryside, where you will pass Wymondham Abbey (The Abbey Bells may be ringing) heading towards Attleborough but where you will turn off left before getting to Attleborough to start your journey back.

The feed zone will be based at Hethersett Village Hall. On the day you can decide to shorten your ride when returning to the feed zone.

If you feel the 50 & 25 mile are too long, we do have a shorter 10-mile route, which is ideal for families.

On the day you will all get a finisher medal / Goody Bag / Mechanical Support / Route download / Sweets / Crisps

From 11:30 am – 3pm there will be the Fox Festival on the grounds of the Village Hall, please either stay around and get family to meet you or come along later.
