White Rose Classic - Yorkshire's Premier Sportive

The White Rose Classic, a regular on the sportive calendar is run by Ilkley Cycling Club, the clubs aim is to make the event attractive to all levels of sportive rider and an enjoyable day out in the dales supported by a friendly volunteers. 

For 2025 we are introducing a 4th route which will be the shortest one on offer to complement the existing 3 routes, the new route aims to attract those riders who just want a leisurely ride out in to the dales and enjoy a post ride drink in the event village.    The routes have been refreshed for 2025 and range now from 36 miles to 124 miles which will take you in to the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. As you weave yourself around the Yorkshire dales through various lumps, bumps and an odd climb or two, you'll enjoy the beautiful scenery that he Yorkshire Dales has to offer and gain an insight to why the Yorkshire Dales is a cycling mecca. You’ll been riding on roads made famous by the Tour de France in 2014, the  Tour de Yorkshire and the UCI world championships in 2019, before finishing your route at our HQ. Once finished you can relax in the post ride village and enjoy a drink with food where friends and family are welcome to join you.   We provide onsite free parking, fully signed routes, first aid support, fully stocked feed stops and mechanical support on the start line and at the 1sr feed stop and all finishers will receive a finishers medal

The White Rose Classic is organised and run entirely by volunteers from Ilkley Cycling Club along with their friends & family. The event is a ‘Not for Profit’ sportive and any profits from the event are re-invested in to the event and promoting grassroots cycling initiatives, local charities including Nell Bank and supporting our youth development programme, along with encouraging more men and women to ride bikes as per the club motto "From Recreation to Racing.” 

We are pleased to make road cycling more accessible to all. Don't be intimidated: ride solo or with friends in a supportive environment where you can push yourself and help others.
