New for 2025, we are pleased to be promoting The Glasgow Grand Prix - a two day multi-discpline track event over the weekend of 25/26th January at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Glasgow.

The Glasgow GP features:

• The 2025 Scottish National Senior and Youth Madison Championships
• Senior Open Omnium
• The Glasgow GP DernyFest
• Youth Omnium

The two day programme caters for Youth A/B boys and girls, juniors and U23, and senior open and female riders across a variety of bunch endurance events. The event is not just open to Scottish riders, but to riders from across borders too - the Scottish National title will be awarded to the top placed eligible teams. 

Event Format

Friday 24th January

There will be a Madison Training Session at 6pm. Track rider limits will apply

Saturday 25th January

• 2025 Scottish National Senior and Youth Madison Championships - eligible riders (see Info for riders on eligibility) will race as a pair over a set race distance for the National Championship title, 2nd and 3rd place medals and applicable ranking points.
• Open Senior Omnium - eligible riders (track league groups B/C/D or riders with suitable track racing experience) will race in an open UCI format omnium comprising scratch, tempo, elimination and points races with total accumulated points deciding the overall placings and applicable BC ranking points. 

Sunday 26th January

• Glasgow GP DernyFest - this will follow a traditional DernyFest format with riders for open senior riders with 10km heats and 10km-20km A/B/C finals. Each final will receive the applicable BC ranking points.
• Youth Omnium - riders will race in an open UCI format omnium comprising scratch, tempo, elimination and points races with total accumulated points deciding the overall placings and applicable BC ranking points. 

Entries Close at 11.55pm Friday 10th of January for championships events 

There will be an area within track centre for spectators, friends and family to access during the event. Spectator stands will not be open during this event.

Info for Riders

To be eligible for the Scottish National Madison Championship titles, each rider must meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria stated within the Scottish Cycling Technical Regulations;

18.1.2 All SC Championships shall be open to: -

a) SC/BC members (members of clubs affiliated to SC)

b) Scottish Nationals (persons born in Scotland)

c) Scottish Residents (persons who have lived in Scotland for three of the last five years)

d) Persons who have at least one parent who was born in Scotland.

e) Members of the armed forces who meet none of the above, but who by necessity are required to live in Scotland away from their normal residence.

Persons in sections (b), (c), (d) and (e) must be members of an UCI recognised Cycling Federation.

Riders should enter as individuals and provide the name & membership number of their partner.

Championship regulations do not apply for all other events.

For the open DernyFest, riders can indicate a preferred pacer when entering otherwise the Event Organiser will allocate pacers for heats and finals from 

The final schedule of events is dependent on entries received for each and may be subject to change prior to the start of the event after entries close.

Following the close of online entries the schedule will be completed and emailed out to riders along with the race manual.
