The Anderson Trophy 2 Day Stage Race

Road , Biddenden – Saturday, 14 Jun 2025

Event Summary

Event Overview

The Anderson Family Legacy

Ask any South East rider who competed over the last 20 odd years and I guarantee they will all remember the Anderson family with not only great fondness, but great respect. The commitment and professionalism they applied to the years of running the South East Road Race League, or SERRL as it was more affectionately known, will never be surpassed. It was an affiliation league where South East clubs mucked in and provided the volunteers for the days racing, but the Anderson family led by Kim, not only did all the work behind the scenes, but were at every event coordinating things and providing all the key roles, with Kate often providing first and and neutral service/broom wagon, Luke and Preston often commissairing, unsung Anderson family member Adrian Kingwell in charge of the results on the finish line and Kim ensuring everything was in place, but most importantly keeping everyone happy. This family were an inspiration to myself and many new race organisers and were always my yardstick of how well it was going when organising a race.

About the Event

Info for Riders

A new annual event to recognise the work that the Anderson family put into road racing in the South East region through among other things running the highly successful SERRL.

Who's going to take the honour of being the first name to get engraved on the new prestigious trophy?

The event will take place on the weekend of 14/15th June 2025. It will encompass a short individual prologue and a flat road stage on the Saturday, using the Biddenden circuit. Then on the Sunday there will be a longer road stage on the Benenden/Sandhurst circuit. Both circuits are within 5-6 miles of each other, so the logistics for riders should be simple.

There will be an individual general classification, a hot spots sprint competition and a climbers competition. all with leaders jerseys.

Stage 1 & 2 HQ = Cackle Hill Fishing Lakes,  Headcorn Rd, Biddenden, Ashford TN27 8JW

Stage 3 HQ = Benenden Village Hall,  The St, Benenden, Cranbrook TN17 4DE
