Plymouth Corinthian Spring Road Races

Road , Ivybridge – Sunday, 13 Apr 2025

Event Summary

Event Overview

Come & be part of South West road racing history!

This will be the first road race to have been run on the new SW167 Ermington course.

Those who have ridden the Plymouth Chaingang, or Cycling Time Trial's S4/10 will be familiar with the A3121.

The peloton will roll out of Wrangaton at the designated start time, turning right onto the A3121 over the A38 for ~2km before taking the third exit of the roundabout onto the valley road (heading south-west towards Ugborough & Ermington). The race will remain neutralised until approximately Ugborough Garages on the left of the carriageway, however, the commissaires have the power to change this during the rollout to ensure the peloton's safety.

From here, it's a wide, non-technical descent to the valley floor, bypassing the village of Ermington before reaching the second roundabout after nearly 8km - where the A3121 meets the A379. The race will do nearly a full 360-degree turn at this roundabout, heading back up the way it came, all the way to that top roundabout past Ugborough before repeating for the number of laps written in the race manual!

The rouleurs among you will be glad to read that the finish line is shortly before the real climbing begins each lap; with a short, steep kicker within the last kilometre before 'flattening' out to 1-2% all the way to the line.

We have no idea who this course suits - one for the breakaway, or a bunch sprint?

Come & find out on the 13th April!
