2025 Opening event takes us back to Cathkin Braes, near Glasgow, with stunning views over the city.       Introducing a new 2 day format for 2025 Saturday offers courses for the U12's, 10's & 8's with fun being the big factor. Everyone gets to race twice and no one gets eliminated. For each age category there will be heats followed by finals. For the heats riders will be randomly drawn, then the top half of riders will find themselves in the 'A' Final and lower half in the 'B' Final.         Also newly introducing for 2025 is Short Course racing on the Saturday. This will be 20 minutes of a fast flowing enjoyable experience not to be missed! Open to all age categories 13+ (Juvenile) upwards. There are 2 races, one is Female only and the other the Open Race. Entries are limited to 40 each.            Sunday XCO (full course) hosts all the races for categories Juvenile and upwards on a longer technically challenging course with a mix of climbing and descending. Not forgetting we also have the 'Fun' race, for those who want to give it a go.      The SXC series without doubt attracts riders of all levels.        Entries for Round 1 will close on SUNDAY 23rd MARCH at 23:55 Hours.     NO FURTHER ENTRIES AFTER THIS POINT **under 10's, 8's and Fun entries may be considered         ** Please note timings are subject to change ** The full timetable is available on the website or facebook page   

 

Info for Riders

DO I NEED A RACE LICENCE?

A Race License (BC member with add on/premium) is not required to participate in the Scottish MTB XC Series.

 

However, if you are participating in the Scottish Championship event or the British National XC Series and Championships later in the year, then a full race license will be required.

 

WHAT CATEGORY AM I IN?

Not sure what category you're in - it's based on your age this year.  

For example -

If you are turning 12 this year you will be in the U14's (Juvenile category). This two year banding cascades down from Junior to 8 and under. 

If you are 49 and your 'big 50' is in June then you will be in the Master 50+

 

WHAT RACE AM I IN ON THE SUNDAY?

Race 1 - 

• Fun Taster (13+ upwards for both Female & Open) 
• Juvenile/ Youth - Female
• Juvenile / Youth - Open 
• All the Female categories (bar Elites/Experts & Juniors)
• Master 60+ - Open (any 70+ can enter here) 

 

Race 2 - 

• Expert/Elite, Junior & Sport Open
• Expert/Elite Juniors Female

 

Race 3 -

• Master 40+ 50+ Open

 

SXC Series and points are awarded to riders in categories U12 upwards .
