Regional A Open road race for CAT 2/3/4 on a new sporting 85km (approx) course around the scenic roads of West Wight, taking in some of the iconic roads on the Island.

The race will follow a NEW, revised course that takes place on wider and safer roads.
Comprised of 4 x 21km (approx.) laps of a circuit, will start from the HQ at West Wight Sports & Community Centre, passing through Freshwater Bay, the villages of Brighstone, Brook and Afton finishing at the top of the first ascent at Freshwater Bay.

The race roll out will be neutralised from the HQ car park entrance onto Brookside Road  turning right onto School Green Road A3055. At the mini-roundabout the convoy will take the 2nd exit onto Afton Road. The convoy will continue along Afton Road and at the junction of Newport Road will join the course circuit proper. Convoy continues along Afton Road to the junction at Military Road A3055 and will turn shart left onto a steep climb at Freshwater Bay, passing through the Finish Line and continuing along Military Road A3055. At a point deemed safe to do so, the Commissaire will drop the flag on the 2nd hill at Freshwater Bay and the racing will commence along the Military Road.

The race then continues along the Military Road and riders can contest the sprint 100m before the entrance to the IOW Pearl Factory (there will be a white flag approximately 300m before the sprint and a green sprint board at the line) which will be contested on each of the 4 laps.

The race then turns left at Grange Road which leads into New Road and riders turn left again at the junction of Main Road B3399 into Brighstone Village. The road winds through Brighstone Village and then veers right on the ascent at Hunnyhill. Riders continue on the B3399 along rolling roads through the villages of Mottistone and Hulverstone. At Brook the road veers right leading to Brook Shute.

The race then ascends Brook Shute where riders can contest the KOM (there will be a blue flag at the bottom of the hill to indicate the start of the climb and a polka dot KOM board at the line).

There is then a fast descent to the junction with Middle Road and riders turn left onto Middle Road, leading into Newport Road until the junction at Afton. The race turns left again and winds along Afton Road until the Military Road junction at Freshwater Bay. Riders turn sharp left and ascend the steep climb to finish the lap after the ‘false flat’, passing through the finish line to complete the 1st lap.
