About the Event

Info for Riders

We are again running our Winter Series at Redbridge Cycling Centre on the Closed Road Circuit using the lower circuit. Events will be held on 23rd February, 30th March and 27th April 2025.

This series is designed to be an entry level event for riders who have little or no experience of racing (and for their parents who have never prepared a young rider for an event before!) We do not carry out gear checks, and although there will be riders wearing ‘proper kit’ and riding road bikes, you do not need any special gear -all you need is for your bike to be in good working condition and safe to ride, and to wear appropriate clothing and a helmet which is also safe. We encourage you to ‘have a go’ and award separate certificates for those riding non-road bikes as we appreciate you have to work a lot harder to get round the track than those who have sleek road machines!

Signing on is from 12.15pm, racing starts prompt at 1.30pm, finishing at about 4.30pm, with presentations back up at HQ afterwards.

Boys and girls will race together in their age categories (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16) but there will be separate awards. If there are sufficient numbers, there may be separate girls’ / boys’ races.

All riders will be eligible for the series Points Competition (best three results to count).

On-line entry via British Cycling, there will be entry on the day
