Malvern Cycle Sport Go-Ride Race April

MTB XC , Storridge – Wednesday, 02 Apr 2025

Event Summary

Event Overview

PLEASE NOTE - WE STRONGLY ADVISE TO CHECK IF THERE ARE PLACES IN THE JUNIOR RACE AND 14+ RACE IF YOU WISH TO ENTER ON THE DAY BEFORE ATTENDING.

A community organised, grass roots racing event, open to all riders but absolutely perfect for those new to competitive off-road cycling.  A friendly, welcoming atmosphere awaits, and spectators are welcome (though bring a chair!).  Entries online in advance are required - there may be a limited number of on-the-day entries available for the Junior and Open races.  See social media HERE for on the day info.

For the two races, riders will race over a mix of woodland and meadow trails.  The course will change slightly for each round but will be designed with an XC mountain bike in mind (though it should also be fine on a gravel bike or CX bike).  Please note the course for the Junior Race will be shorter and flatter than the course for the Open Race.  The Open Race is aimed at older juniors and senior riders but is open to the more experienced (and competitive) junior riders aged 12 and over.

In both races, each racer will be issued an ankle timing chip so that lap times and results can be shared after the event; please note that in the very unlikely event of a technology failure, we will not be able to issue you with lap numbers or timings.  The course is not open for practice due to the tight timings, but a sighting lap will be completed before each race (coa begins to help familiarise riders with the course.  This venue is on private land and is only open for use during race times; any use outside of these times may jeopardise future events.

For each round, prizes will be issued to the winners in the following categories: Junior race: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13; Open race: 14-15,16-17, 18+.  Riders will also be allocated points in each round and an overall series ranking (and prize for the winners) will be given to those riders who have competed in at least three of the four events in the series.

In the event of very wet weather, please note that this event may be cancelled at short notice if the parking is unusable.  Parking is open from 5pm; please follow signs, and directions given by marshals, for parking.

Please keep an eye on email and social media for any last minute changes to the schedule.  These are likely to be weather related if they happen, so keep your fingers crossed for dry days in the run up to the event.
