British Cycling has confirmed that Kyle Evans, Tre Whyte and Bethany Shriever will compete for Great Britain Cycling Team at the forthcoming back-to-back UCI BMX Supercross World Cup rounds in the USA.
The trio will ride at Rock Hill, South Carolina, on September 30 and October 1, before competing at the final round of the 2016 series in Sarasota, Florida, on October 8 and 9.
The Rock Hill world cup will mark Evans’ return to international action following his encouraging performance at his debut Olympics Games in Rio, while 22-year-old Whyte and 17-year-old Shriever complete the youthful team.
Grant White, BMX coach for the Great Britain Cycling Team, said: “Kyle can take great encouragement from his displays in Rio, and these back-to-back world cups present both Kyle and Tre to continue to build form and momentum.
“In Bethany’s case, she has displayed during the last year that she has enormous potential, and exposure to events like this will be key in her ongoing development towards achieving success at elite level.”
The team for rounds seven and eight of the UEC BMX European Cup has also been announced. The selected riders are Evans, Whyte, Quillan Isidore and Paddy Sharrock.
